Ducky's Story

Ducky is a 12 year old, 6lb Yorkshire Terrier who was brought into rescue after his owner no longer had time for him. He is a fun loving and happy lil guy with lots of personality!

Ducky is the absolute sweetest. He loves his people hard...so much so that when he found a way to sneak under his Foster Family's gate, he ran to the front door and barked to be let in. :) He has adapted well to the change in his family and surroundings and would love to find a quiet home where someone is around more than not. He would be a great every day companion to someone who works from home or is retired.

Ducky is crate trained, potty trained (may have a few accidents as he adjusts to a new routine), and walks well on a leash, though he prefers to be carried.

Ducky gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He has not been tested with cats, but based on personality it is believed he would do well with dog-friendly cats. Because of his small size, we recommend a home with older children (12+).

Ducky is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and had a recent dental (September 2026). All Midwest dogs are required to be on year round heartworm preventative.

Ducky's adoption fee is $300. Applications can be filled out at: www.MidwestSmallBreedRescue.org.

Hello future adopters! If you find a pet you would like to apply for, please submit an application. One of our adoption representatives will be in contact if your application seems like a good fit. Once an application is screened, a representative will do a vet check to make sure your current and previous pets were taken care of. Once that is completed, a landlord check is often completed if you are renting. Provided that is properly screened, a representative will schedule a meet and home visit for the prospective pet.
