Meet DOZER

PLEASE NOTE: If interested in adopting, the first step is to complete an application on our website at www.sherylsden.org Emails do not start the process, applications do. Please understand that we are 100% foster home based and 100% volunteer, we will respond to each application.

Dozer arrived on February 27th, at 5 ½ years of age, weighing in at approx. 52 pounds. Dozer is a sweet, easy-going, gentle, affectionate dog. He is a bit shy at first but comes around quickly. He loves to take long walks, run, and play ball, and spends most of his time just relaxing and “dozing” off. He is very quiet- you have no idea he is even in the house except for when he barks when the garbage truck comes by. He is fully house trained, friendly to other dogs, and gentle with older children (we have not seen him yet with younger children). When he first arrived, it was clear that he had no experience with stairs. However, a bit of food, and he is up and down them now. Unfortunately, Dozer lost his original home because his owner died.

UPDATE: Dozer went to the groomer and was so well behaved for them. He received a wonderful scrubby bath and everything else that comes with it. The groomer LOVED him and felt as we do, he is a wonderful boy! The bad news is that we discovered a bump on him. Off to the vet we went to see what it is. So far, after being aspirated, it looks like it is infected. It could have been a cyst that took an ugly turn or a wound that became infected. The 3 doctors in the office looked under the microscope for cancer cells and did not find any. However, they saw lots of bacteria. Therefore, the dog is on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications to help it shrink up. We will have it removed because it is bothering him. This will take place on the 16th of March. Any interested/approved applicant will be kept up to date regarding his procedure.

Dozer is neutered, up to date with parvo/distemper shot, rabies shot, and heartworm test. He has also been dewormed and given heartworm preventative.
