Dove's Story

I'm Dove and I'm looking for love! I'm a pretty girl with silver tipped ears and a zest for life. I recently had a "photo shoot" by a professional and I picked my favorite photos to show off.

I came to AGPR from a shelter and was accompanied by a buddy...his name was Teddy. I was the younger woman (about 2-ish years old and he was probably 6+) and full of energy. Teddy and I loved to play together. And when my "middle aged" man was tired, he just told me and I went off exploring the yard on my own.

My BFF Teddy has been adopted. Even though I have another buddy to play with, I'm looking for a home with a family who is looking for an active girl. My favorite things? I enjoy taking walks with my human friends, getting lots of attention and being told how beautiful I am.

If you are looking for a pretty girl like me, I'm looking for you! Since both of my male buddies are/were awesome, I'd love to find another non-dominant boy to share life with (so a meet and greet is a must) OR go home with you to be a diva.

All Great Pyrenees require a fenced-in yard (Bene needs at least six foot high). If you have questions about the breed or our adoption policies and procedures, please go to our website at www.agprescue.org. There's plenty of good information about the breed on our website - Pyrs aren't a breed for everyone!

Our adoption application is online: http://agprescue.org/adoption-application/agpr-application-donations/ Please note that we are a small regional rescue organization. We will consider adopting to families within a four to five hour drive to Richmond, VA

Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue's Adoption Policy
We believe that any prospective owner of a Great Pyrenees should be educated about the breed and we stand behind all of our placements for the life of the dog. If you adopt a dog through AGPR, you can expect us to be there if you have any questions about the breed, if you need help, if you’re having problems, or for any reason at all. If for any reason you can’t keep your adopted dog, you must return it to the rescue. We expect all adoptive homes to an adequate physical fencing, to be able to care for a large breed of dog, to provide appropriate medical care, and to be committed to making the adoption of a rescue dog a success. Our adoption fees are $400 for adults and $450 for puppies (12 months and younger). All dogs have received medical care, are up to date on shots and are spayed/neutered and microchipped. Adoption fees go directly to our rescue fund to help pay for the health and vet treatment of previous and newly rescued Pyrs.
