Dove's Story
Meet Dove!

Dove is an approximately 2.5-year-old, 50-pound Great Pyrenees mix with the gentlest soul and a heart full of love just waiting for someone to call her own.

Unlike your typical high-energy dog, Dove is calm, quiet, and rarely barks. She is incredibly dog-friendly and has a sweet, gentle demeanor that makes her such a joy to be around.

Dove’s favorite thing in the entire world? YOU.

She may be a little shy when first meeting someone, but a few gentle pets and some affection are all it takes to win her heart. Once she realizes you’re her person, prepare to have a permanent shadow! Dove forms deep attachments to her people and wants nothing more than to be close to them. Her favorite resting spot? With her head lovingly draped over your shoulder. She’s the kind of dog who makes you feel like you’re her entire world.

Dove is already crate trained, house trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. She’s a wonderful companion who doesn’t ask for much beyond love, patience, and a safe place to belong.

One thing Dove is still learning to overcome is her fear of car rides. Unfortunately, her last big ride ended at a scary shelter, and that experience left her a little uncertain. With positive reinforcement, patience, and plenty of rewards, she’s slowly learning that not every car ride ends somewhere frightening.

Dove’s ideal family is one that understands that confidence is built through patience, consistency, and love. She deserves a family who will continue helping her blossom, celebrate her little victories, and remind her every day that she’s finally safe.

Dove isn’t looking for grand adventures or constant excitement. She’s looking for her person. Someone whose shoulder she can rest her head on, whose footsteps she can follow, and whose love she never has to question.

If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted companion who will love you with her whole heart, Dove might just be your girl.

Interested in adopting Dove? She is located in Houston, Texas but is available for adoption many places across the country. Her $600 adoption fee includes the cost of transport.

The first step in our adoption process is submitting an application through our rescue:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog
