DOUGIE's Story

Meet Dougie!

Rescued from the shelter

Dougie is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing approximately 14 lbs. This sweet little guy is the definition of easygoing and would be happiest spending his days lounging beside his people, soaking up all the love and attention he can get.

While Dougie can be a little cautious when meeting new people and may bark if he feels unsure, he warms up quickly with a gentle approach and a good scratch behind the ears. Once he trusts you, youll discover a loving companion who simply wants to be close to his humans.

Dougie enjoys his walks and gets very excited to meet other dogs. He has been friendly with every dog hes met and is always eager to make new canine friends. He also enjoys toys and has been showing more of his playful personality as he settles into foster care.

This handsome boy rides beautifully in the car and will usually curl up and nap during the journey. He is mostly house-trained, but may have the occasional accident if he isnt let outside in time. Dougie sleeps in his crate at night and spends some time in it during the day. While he doesnt love being crated and may whine briefly, he settles down nicely after a little time.

His experience with cats is currently unknown.

Overall, Dougie is a chill, affectionate little guy who is looking for a family to relax with, go for walks with, and love for the rest of his life.
