Dottie - IN FOSTER HOME - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION's Story

Dottie is a young Sheepadoodle girl, less than a year old and around 50 pounds of pure personality with THE cutest face! This sweetheart is an active, intelligent dog who is looking for a home that will embrace both her energy and her potential.

She loves long walks, playing with toys, and staying close to her favorite humans. After she's had an outlet for her energy, she settles nicely in the house and is happiest when she's by your side. Bonus? She's not much of a barker!

Like many young doodles, Dottie is incredibly smart and eager to learn. She's currently working on her loose-leash walking and basic obedience skills and would thrive with a family committed to continuing her training. With consistency and guidance, this girl is ready to shine.

Dottie sleeps quietly in her crate overnight, but when left alone she can be vocal and has even figured out how to escape her crate at times. Because of this, we suspect she may experience some separation anxiety. She is a wonderful dog, but she is not a "plug-and-play" pet and will do best with an adopter who understands that she will need patience, structure, and continued training.

Keep in mind that Dottie is more than just a pretty face - she is a mix of two highly active, intelligent breeds and will need an owner who can meet her exercise and mental stimulation needs.

She does well with other playful, high-energy dogs. We do not know how she does with cats or young children, as her foster home has neither. She is still working on her house training, but many dogs pick that up quickly once they settle into a new home and routine.

Dottie would benefit from someone who is home more often than not. An active household is a must, and a fenced yard is high on her wish list!

Dottie's beautiful doodle coat is low-shedding but will require regular brushing and professional grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. Commitment to keeping a doodle mat-free is important!

If you're looking for a loyal companion, an adventure buddy, and a dog who will reward your time and effort with endless love and laughter, Dottie may be the perfect match.

Apply at redbarnrescue.com to meet Dottie!
