Dottie came into rescue with several other dogs. Their owner was moving out of state and was unable to take them or care for them any longer due to the move and health issues. Dottie is a friendly little dog who loves people! She loves attention and is eager to be with her people. She appears to be crate trained and may also be fully housebroken, although we never guarantee that. Dottie gets along well with other dogs but can be dog selective so we recommend dogs her size or larger and supervision when she is around dogs smaller than herself. Despite coming in with several chihuahuas, she has exhibited a prey drive/dominant behavior towards those she doesnt know. Because of this, we also do not believe she would do well with cats. That terrier in her seems to have given her that natural hunting instinct. She is a good natured little dog though who is awesome with people! Dottie just wants a family of her own and would love to be doted on. Dottie would be a wonderful traveling companion and is a good, sturdy size for fun outings. If you are looking for a companion who would love to be your sidekick, Dottie may be a great fit for you! <br/>Dottie saw the vet on 8/28/26 and was found to have an ear infection on her exam. Her ears were cleaned and she was given Claro Otic to treat the infection. This is a one time treatment and is generally very effective. She tested negative for heartworms and has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. She did test positive for hookworms on her fecal so we have dewormed her with Drontal. Dottie's adoption fee will be $200 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us.
