Dottie's Story
Meet Dottie! Dottie is approximately 8 months old, 28 lbs currently and she is a true Mutt! In her foster home, she is working hard on house-training, crate training, and leash walking. She could go to an active home with kids 10+, and other dogs.

She has a strong prey drive so we would err on the side of caution and say no kitties for Dottie!

No apartments, either.

She is high energy and would benefit from a home with a fenced yard and people around more often than not who can keep up with her.

Her MA foster says, "Dottie is an absolute love bug. She wants attention from her humans, her dog friends and really anyone who enters. We had family stay this weekend, my grandkids and niece. What we discovered is Dottie would love and would thrive if she had her own little children. We had ages 4 to 13 here. Babies may be different because she gets very excited and does still jump a little, but she is working so hard to control her excitement when told. Dog loves dogs but has a rough and snappy play style which may annoy some dogs. Our husky sees her as that annoying little sister you can’t help but love. Dottie is high energy but once her energy is released she is so calm and snuggly. Dottie is not an apartment dog, she has a lot to say , especially to her dog friends. She will also alert you when someone does enter your home. We have had to ensure the dogs bathroom breaks are cleaned up immediately or Dottie may think they are a snack. We have a dog savvy, kind of mean Cat. So Dottie hasn’t had the opportunity to get too close to the cat, but by the way she barks and snaps her jaws I think she may be best in a cat free home. Dottie will make some family so happy and constantly laughing."

Her AL foster says, "Dottie is a cute, smart, happy girl that will be the life of the party wherever she goes. She is doing really good in her crate, is working on her leash skills but still needs a little work on that and hasn't had an accident inside in about a week. She plays hard but also settles down well for cuddle time. This girl will provide lots of entertainment for some lucky family. Dottie is so sweet and loves all humans and dogs. She loves to cuddle with her humans and foster siblings. Dottie quickly adapted to our routine, as in how we feed four dogs at once. She has mastered sit. She is working hard on her recall and she really is down for the car or any adventure we take."

She is available for adoption by appointment in Springfield or Hopkinton, MA.
