DOROTHY - HONORARY ADOPTION

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.9 year Dorothy and her mom Sophie (12) found themselves in the care of Huntsville Alabama Animal Services in May of 2020. Both girls were in great need of dental care and suffered from different eye diseases that were left untreated. After almost a year in foster care, Sophie was recently adopted out. Dorothy remains in foster. Dorothy suffered from glaucoma. It was managed daily with many expensive eye meds as long as possible. Last month Dorothy began to have pain from her eyes and her eyes had to be removed. She is doing very well and since she was already blind, removing her eyes has not caused her to skip a beat. Dorothy does best as an only dog and she is very bonded with her foster mom. She suffers from some anxiety when her foster mom leaves her but is otherwise doing well and waiting for that special adopter to come along.<br/><br/>Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescued Basset Hound! We usually have 25 - 35 dogs available and the ages range from less than year old to ten plus years old. Once we receive your application you'll be contacted by an adoption representative to complete the application process.
