DOOZY's Story

MEET DOOZY — A GENTLE GIANT WITH A HEART OF GOLD!

Doozy, is a gentle giant with the biggest heart and the sweetest personality. This handsome boy is incredibly loving, good-natured, and just wants to be part of someone’s family.

Doozy is a local dog whose family was absolutely heartbroken to have to surrender him after a family member developed severe allergies. He was very much loved, and this was not an easy decision for them. Now we’re hoping to find him another family who will love him just as much.

Doozy is the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying. He’s always happy to greet his people, loves leaning against you for scratches, and is famous for his adorable nose-to-nose “boops.” He’s incredibly sweet, submissive, affectionate, and has so much love to give.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT DOOZY:

* 3 years old and 90+ pounds of love!
* DNA tested! He’s a mix of Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, and Pit Bull!
* Very gentle, submissive, and good-natured.
* Knows several commands, sit, down, turn, stay.
* Great with other dogs!
* Good with cats and young children!
* Loves walks and spending time with his people.
* Very food motivated!
* Enjoys toys (although stuffed animals don’t stand much of a chance! ).
* Neutered and fully up to date on vaccinations.
* Heartworm and tick-borne disease negative.

Doozy has plates in his rear legs from a previous accident on the ice, but don’t let that fool you! This boy still runs around the yard, plays, and enjoys life just like any other dog. He can easily manage a few steps getting in and out of a house but would struggle with a full flight of stairs. He also uses a ramp to get in and out of vehicles. Other than a few simple accommodations, he’s a happy, active boy who doesn’t let his past slow him down!
