Written: 8/28/26<br/>Age: 3 years, born August 2023<br/>Weight: 42lbs<br/>Breed: Australian Cattle Dog<br/><br/>Meet Dolly!<br/><br/>Dolly is the momma to the heeler mix litter that came to B&B from Louisiana!<br/>Dolly should be called Dali, like the Dali Llama, because she's peaceful, demonstrates love, and only wants love, attention and food. She's relaxed, not destructive, quiet and friendly. She may play with toys, chews and bigger dogs, but we haven't observed this. Dolly has the softest fur we've ever felt on a short haired dog but doesn't seem to shed much - win! Dolly does best around dogs larger than her, she doesn't seem to like the little dogs in her foster home. She would do best with a breed-experienced owner or someone willing to learn and work with her on her training! <br/><br/>She is curious about cats and they stay on the floor when she's around, she will try to counter-surf and is very, very food oriented but resource guarding has not been tested. She loves her crate but not being closed up inside. Dolly does not seem to ever bark at outside noise or people coming to the door. She dribbles when she drinks :-) She's nervous sometimes to go down stairs. She is working on her leash training and how all of that works. <br/><br/>She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on core vaccinations, has been dewormed, spayed, microchipped, and is on monthly preventatives. Dolly does have some health concerns, including a mammary mass and is also heartworm positive. B&B will be covering the cost of treatment. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of her care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
