Dolly's Story

**Dolly is in heat and cannot be adopted until her heat cycle has completed. She is still available to meet and play with at this time, but an adoption will not be completed. We do not hold animals.**

Meet Dolly! This Seeker is looking for a forever home! Dolly is a 2 year old female German Shorthair Pointer.
Poor Dolly has had a rough go of it. A few months ago, she was found wandering by Cedar Bluff and a kind soul took her in temporarily. Due to the location and time of year we think it likely she was someone's hunting dog that either ran off or was dumped. The family that took her in could not keep her long term, but they were able to hold her long enough for the shelter to have space.
Since she was initially found as a stray, we don't know anything her history before she was picked up. She has been around a few other dogs and got along well with them, but she has not been around cats to our knowledge. She briefly met our office cats and seemed very interested in them, so she might chase felines if given the opportunity. We recommend a meet and greet with any pets in the home to make sure it's a good fit. She was around her caretaker's grandkids a few times, and did well with them.
Dolly plays like it is her 9 to 5 job! She has plenty of excess energy, and would really benefit from a family that is active enough to keep her entertained. Her previous owner kept her in an outdoor run so we aren't sure if she is housebroken. She also does not appear to have much obedience training, so her future owner will need to work with her and help her be on her best behavior! She is a very sweet girl, but she has a lot of energy and is easily distracted, so she hasn't yet learned how to listen.
Dolly has received her first round of vaccinations and will soon be ready to bust out of here and make her way to a forever home! If you think Dolly could be the diva for you, stop by and meet her today!
