Meet Dock

Sneak preview..... Meet Dock !! Doc was recently rescued from a high kill shelter after he was owner surrendered with two small pups. The reason given was that the family was moving and could not bring the dogs along. Dock did very well during his intake and he did not seem to mind any dog or puppy that he passed by. Doc has been cat tested at the shelter and he did VERY WELL. Although this is not a guarantee.....Dock did beautifully in the cat building! He was face to face with a couple of them and even though he looked at them, sometimes for a few solid seconds, there was no growling or reaction of any kind. Actually, when some of the kittens made quick movements, it seemed to startle him. So, our guess is that Dock will be fine in a home with cats, with a nice slow introduction and a period to adjust. Caution, of course, is advised. (Dock's current foster mom does NOT feel that he should go to a home with cats).
This gorgeous boy is listed as about six years young... approx. 60 lbs. Very, very nice dog...gets along well with everyone he meets. Dock has already been neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. He was recently treated for heartworm disease and he is well past his "restricted activity" period of recuperation. He will be coming soon to One Life to Live Rescue soon. We are unsure of his breed but we are guessing maybe Husky?/Boxer?.... whatever his heritage he is a beautiful mixed-breed boy!! His suggested adoption donation is $325 to help the rescue recover some of the cost of vetting. Dock will be in need of a foster or a permanent home when he gets here on May 21st. If you would like to provide Dock with either, you can complete an online application on the rescue website at OneLifeToLiveRescue.com. A rescue volunteer will then be in touch to discuss our "foster-to-adopt" option and t answer any questions that you might have. Please give him a place to go when he gets here so that he can finally take his "Freedom Ride". Dock has finally found his "forever" home. His new name is "Dexter" and he will be spending the "happily-ever-after" part of his life in Havertown, PA!!
