Meet Doc Holliday, a young Australian shepherd who was surrendered to us just over a month ago. Set up to fail, Doc was unsocialized, under-exercised, with owners who had no sense of his needs or breed traits. He was labeled “aggressive” and brought to us. Since arriving we have worked with him to overcome the baggage he brought. He is wary of new people, working on his leash skills, and such a good good boy. He absolutely loves other dogs, romping, wrestling, and playing with his pals. Doc adores his human friends too, (just give him a chance to meet you) full body wiggling his way over to those he knows, usually doing a happy tinkle because he can’t contain his joy. Doc is very much a typical Aussie, he is bursting at the seams with energy, incredibly smart, loyal, and eager to do his best. We haven’t seen aggressive behaviors from him, he is getting what he needs and thriving. To continue his success, Doc will be taking a few lessons with our friends at 203k9. We hope this foundation will only solidify what a good boy he is; a way to get that brain working, social skills flourishing, and tire out a nearly endless supply of Aussie puppy energy. Doc is looking for a home with shepherd experience, he is not a first dog type of dog. Fully vetted, 11 months old, about 55 lbs, and cat friendly, Doc Holliday can’t wait to find his furever family!
