DOC's Story

Meet Doc!
Looking for a tiny best friend with a huge personality?

This adorable 8-year-old, 5-pound Affenpinscher mix may only have one eye and four teeth, but dont let that fool you—hes full of life, love, and plenty of spunky charm. After having his painful eye removed due to glaucoma and getting a dental, Doc is feeling better than ever and is ready to find the family hes been waiting for.
About Doc
Age: 8 years
Weight: 5 pounds
Personality: Loyal, affectionate, independent, intelligent, and quirky

Ideal Home: Quiet adult home where someone is home most of the time
Like many Affenpinschers, Doc has a big personality packed into a tiny body. He wont hand over his heart on the first meeting—but give him a little patience, a few treats, and the chance to build trust, and youll gain the most devoted little companion. Once youve become his person, hell happily follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch, play a game of fetch, or snuggle up next to you in bed.
Because of his limited vision, Doc startles easily and doesnt like being picked up unexpectedly. When he feels scared, he may try to nip—but its fear, not aggression. With only four teeth, if he nips its not much of a concern , and once he knows and trusts you, hes a loving little gentleman. Gentle handling, allowing him to approach you first, and using a harness when needed help him feel safe and confident.
Doc is making great progress with his house training and thrives on a consistent routine. He currently wears a belly band indoors because he may occasionally mark or have an accident if he isnt let outside in time. With patience and consistency, he continues to improve every day.
He coexists peacefully with other dogs but prefers his own space over playtime. His dream home would be calm and predictable, where he can be the center of someones world.
Doc isnt looking for perfection—hes looking for someone willing to see past his little quirks and love him for the incredible dog he is. In return, youll gain a fiercely loyal, endlessly entertaining, and deeply affectionate companion who will love you with his whole heart.
If you believe that the best relationships are built on patience, trust, and unconditional love, Doc is ready to meet you. He just might be the best little friend youve ever had.

Doxie & Friends Rescue's Adoption Policy
DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE always has the best interest of the dog at heart. We feel it is our responsibility to place them in the best homes that will not only provide them with love, but ones that are a match . We acquire an application to be filled out . Please know that we are not trying to judge anyone's lifestyle. We only want to ensure that these dogs ,(many of whom have already had a difficult life ) find the very best homes where they can live their years in healthy, safe and loving environments. In order to protect our rescues, all adopters will be required to sign an adoption contract . With every life that is rescued, DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE takes responsibility for their placement. For any reason you can no longer care for your adopted dog the dog MUST be returned to DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE so that we can find another home. Adopters may not search for placement on their own . We do not offer "refunds" as any monies paid are a donation and not a "payment for goods and/or services". However, if you are a qualified candidate, we will offer an exchange for another dog if appropriate.
