Dobby's Story

Meet Dobby!

Just like his namesake, Dobby the dog is fiercely loyal and brave (and loves socks). While we don't know what the first 7 years of his life were like (but we suspect they were difficult), he's demonstrated an unshakeable allegiance to his humans and a sweet yet quirky personality while in foster care. He is highly adaptable, curious, and gentle.

Weighing in at under 35 pounds, Dobby is the perfect size for an adventure or an afternoon watching TV. While most Aussies need a job, Dobby seems to need snuggles. As a border collie+aussie mix, he has the best traits of both breeds. He loves prolonged eye contact, time spent in the yard, following you from room to room, bringing you his stuffed animals, learning new tricks, and swiveling his butt to any human who will give him scratches.

Dobby has an easy-going disposition and loves to be where his people are. He is neutered, crate trained, potty trained, and up to date on vaccinations. Dobby rides nicely in the car, walks easily on a leash, and loves greeting other dogs. Before foster care, he was very hesitant to meet people, especially men, but as his confidence grows, so does his curiosity for them! He has very expressive body language and is learning basic commands quickly.

Dobby is heartworm positive and being treated by ARMA.

If you're an approved ARMA adopter and think Dobby is your guy, please contact the volunteer with whom you've been working. If you'd like to apply to adopt Dobby, our application can be found on our website - https://aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org/
