Dixie's Story

Hey my name is Dixie. I’m a happy go lucky type girl. I have a lot of energy and I may be a little (like a smidge) bossy. I would rather say I like to keep busy and if that means herding you into the kitchen for a treat is that so wrong? See I didn’t think so either. You probably can’t tell from my stout figure but I love my two meals a day and treats. Like a lot. I will push my nose into your pockets just to make sure you don’t have any treats hiding in there. I love humans of all sizes, especially the smaller ones.

Volunteers say: “Dixie is a hoot. She has such a larger than life personality and the biggest heart. It’s huge. She loves everyone and everything. She is super smart and it can be a challenge here at the rescue to keep her busy and engaged. Dixie would love to have a job and people to watch over. We do our best to work on more advanced training when we have a little extra time. Sometimes she has a mind of her own but she responds so well to instructions and loves (really loves) the extra attention. She would be great for a family interested in advanced training or would love to have a companion while doing chores.
