Dixie Doodle

This poor, sweet baby came into rescue from a home that did not care for her properly. As you can see from her pictures, she was in desperate need of a grooming. She's shy and shut down so we know that she was not treated well by her former family. She's in need of love, patience, and TLC. Her forever family will need to give her time to decompress, relax, and learn what it means to live in a happy family home as a beloved, not neglected, family member. She's estimated to be about 3-4 years old so is over the puppy stage, although we hope she does come out of her shell and learns to be playful and carefree. She will need a family that will understand she may not know basic commands and how to live in a house, even though she is an adult dog. She will also need regular grooming. She is currently in AL but we hope to bring her to Maine this Fall and find her the most loving family.<br/><br/>If you think you might be interested in adopting Dixie or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website.
