Come meet Dinky and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (April 28th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!

Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of April 2024 SEX: Female

Estimated Weight: 33 lbs as of 4/24; She is still growing!

Gets Along With: Other dogs! She has also lived with older kids previously and done well. We. haven't seen her with cats, but she can be tested.

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special Adoption Considerations: When Dinky arrived from the shelter, she was pretty reserved in the hustle and bustle of city life. She has been making great strides in foster care! We think Dinky would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure Dinky has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build confidence.

Dinky is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Dinky! Me and my littermate, Dandy, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me?
What My Foster Says About Me: Dinky is the sweetest ray of sunshine!! She is so bouncy and playful plus she looooves other dogs!! She still has that puppy charm, playing hard with other dogs, or just toys of all kinds (squeakies are especially delightful). She loves tug-of-war, wrestling, tossing toys around for herself, and showing her belly while giving my dog kisses. And after a good hard play she flops down for a solid nap, sometimes accompanied by a little gentle puppy snoring.

When you first meet her, Dinky can be a bit skittish and a little reserved (who can blame her -- the world is big and scary!), but with some time she warms up! It only took two days before she started leaning up against me on the couch and by day three she's cuddling and giving lots of kisses!
Dinky is also great with kids, warming up to them more and more as she gets to know them. She's such an affectionate, joyful, and playful little gal! With a little patience (and bribery) she will make the perfect furry companion for any family looking for an addition who loves exploring new smells, making new dog friends, cleaning up your crumbs, and cuddling on the couch.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
