Dingo Pit Bull Terrier & Labrador Retriever Mix Sherwood, OR

Humane Society for Southwest Washington in Vancouver, WA has a super friendly Pit Bull mix in their shelter who is NOT tolerating the shelter environment. He has been there since 1-21-21. He will not walk outside at the shelter (the shelter employees think it’s because of the gun range next door). They had some success getting him out for playtime in some inside rooms but he is shutting down even more and not wanting to leave his kennel at all. In the shelter, he is very nervous of the gunshots outside and of the barking dogs in the kennels and will not go outside to play/walk/potty.

He was an owner surrender and his previous family described as high energy, very friendly with people and other dogs (in shelter too nervous to play with other dogs but is neutral around them), has never been around cats but chases small animals in backyard. He is crate trained and potty trained and lived with a 6yr and 8yr old child. Dingo’s previous owner thinks he might knock down small kids from excitement and his mouthy when he plays.
