Our Diamond girl sure does shine! Looks wise she is unique, a real beauty. But we all know looks aren't everything, and Diamond does not disappoint when it comes to what she has to offer below the surface. So does Diamond have wonderful qualities that reflect her outward appearance? Yes, she she absolutely does. First of all, as her forever human companion/s, you will have endless options for activities, adventures, and bonding. That's because Diamond has a wide range of interests. She loves playing with toys, loves the kiddie pool and being in water (even likes being bathed), loves riding in the car and outings at the park, walks, and trail hiking. Speaking of walks and hikes, another area where Diamond shines is her nonreactivity to prey, such as squirrels, as well as to other dogs and people. Even in the veterinarian's lobby and waiting room, she completely ignored two tiny dogs sitting close by and all the other distractions going on around her. She was also great with the vet and staff during the exam. The volunteers who spend the most time with Diamond have been working on some of her basic training needs; and being a young dog, she would benefit from more training once she is comfortably ensconced in her new life outside the shelter. On a final note, the fact is that Diamond's most brilliant quality is her love of human companionship. While it's true that she has a long list of things she loves, for Diamond nothing is more valuable than being loved by a human and receiving physical affection from them and being close to them. We've seen here at Humane that she bonds very strongly with the people who spend the most time with her, and those people are equally head over heels about her.
