Devoe's Story
Devoe
1 year, 10lbs
Rescued in the Southwest

Meet Devoe (aka Diva — she never quite responded to her original name, so Diva stuck)! This 1-year-old, 10-pound girl is low energy with a sweet, independent streak — she can be shy in new situations at first, but warms up quickly and is always curious when someone new comes through the door. She likes being around people but is just as happy chilling solo, and she settles in easily when left alone, simply curling up for a nap. She's still a bit timid meeting other dogs (mostly just passing encounters on walks so far) and cautious on leash, though nothing major — more careful sniffing than confident strolling at this point, and she's getting more confident every day!

Devoe doesn't yet know any commands yet, though she's a blank slate ready to learn. Her days are simple: a morning walk (heavy on the sniffing), grazing on breakfast throughout the day rather than eating it all at once, and minimal exercise beyond some light trotting — she hasn't quite figured out how to play yet, seeming more confused than interested when her foster's tried fetch or tug of war, but that's just part of her building confidence. She'd do best as an only dog in a calm-to-moderate household with a small apartment being no issue at all. Her foster describes her as a sweet little girl who's already made huge strides in just a week in NYC, with a funny, independent personality that's blossoming more each day. All Devoe needs now is a kind, patient person ready to keep building her confidence alongside her.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Devoe, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
!
