Devito's Story
Meet DeVito — the Short King with a Big Personality

Adopters must have French Bulldog experience or experience with Brachycephalic dogs. Any inground pool MUST have fencing directly around it to keep dogs away. Just like his namesake, DeVito is short, stout, and absolutely unforgettable. This neutered male French Bulldog is basically a walking meatball with more personality packed into his little body than most dogs twice his size. Around here he's known as the biggest ham in the yard, and my seven-year-old absolutely adores him — he keeps us laughing daily with his goofy antics and dramatic flair.

DeVito gets along with most of the dogs here, but because he can be a bit bossy and likes to run the show, he will need slow, proper introductions to new dogs. He's not a dog you just open the gate and toss into the pack — he does best with a confident, experienced handler who understands dog behavior and leadership. With the right person, he thrives.

This little tank is very food motivated, which makes him fun to work with and easy to bond with. He does pull on the leash like a tiny army bulldozer, but that just adds to his hilarious charm. Despite his strong personality, he is wonderful with my seven-year-old child and has such a sweet, affectionate side.

Because he's a Frenchie, DeVito should not be left outside in hot weather for long periods, as the breed can have breathing sensitivities. He also does best on food without chicken, as he has a chicken meal allergy.

DeVito is estimated to be 8 years old, and he is:
• Neutered
• Heartworm negative
• Up-to-date on vaccines
• On heartworm prevention

If you're looking for a big personality in a compact, hilarious little body, DeVito just might be your guy. He's equal parts comedian, cuddle bug, and tiny dictator — and we wouldn't have him any other way. Fill out an adoption application if you would like to have him join your family. His $350 adoption fee will cover medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
