Say hello to Destiny! Destiny is what happens when a toasted marshmallow gets into a relationship with a teddy bear and they raise their daughter with absolutely no concern for personal dignity. At 10 weeks old and 10 pounds, this female Aussie mix is roughly the size of a well-fed throw pillow and approximately twice as fluffy. Destiny is incredibly sweet—the kind of sweet that makes warm cinnamon rolls seem emotionally unavailable. She loves with her whole tiny body, although that body is currently operating on puppy software and occasionally loses communication with the legs. She is not particularly interested in marching across Oklahoma in the heat like a tiny furry pioneer when there is perfectly good air-conditioning indoors. A house would be lovely, but she could also do well in an apartment with regular walks—once she and the leash finish their ongoing contract negotiations. At the moment, she prefers following her foster around without one, presumably because rules feel unnecessarily formal when you are this cute. Her energy level sits around a six out of ten: playful enough to keep life entertaining, but not so energetic that you need to alert the National Weather Service. She is mostly a homebody who will happily go wherever her people and dog friends go, provided no one expects her to become an outdoorswoman. Destiny did not come here to summit mountains. She came here to enjoy climate control and be included in lunch plans. <br/><br/>She absolutely loves other dogs. She plays, wrestles and enthusiastically invites herself into games that may not have technically been accepting new participants. A dog can ignore her, walk away or file a formal request for personal space, but Destiny remains confident that friendship is simply a matter of persistence. She is the puppy equivalent of someone pulling up a chair to your table and saying, “You guys seem fun.” Cats remain an unsolved mystery, and she has not met any children yet. Destiny also enjoys meeting new people and currently accompanies her foster to the office each day, where she handles public relations, employee morale and looking extremely busy while accomplishing very little. She happily greets people there and when out and about. Her professional qualifications are unclear, but morale has improved and no one has dared question the tiny woman in the pink backpack.<br/><br/>Car travel is another area where Destiny has established firm expectations. She is a helpless baby princess who must be carried to the vehicle and then ride on someone’s lap for maximum happiness. Could she probably sit somewhere else? Maybe. Could royalty also take public transportation? Technically. Neither situation is likely to occur under her current administration. She enjoys toys and will happily splash in and out of a baby pool, although fetch is apparently beneath her. You threw the toy away; that sounds like a personal problem. If suitable toys are unavailable, she may begin taste-testing nearby objects. Destiny does not know any commands yet because she is ten weeks old and has been very busy developing fluff, opinions and a management style. Potty training is currently in the “promising but please remain alert” phase. She will bark when she needs to go outside to poop and will alert from her crate overnight. Peeing, however, may still occur indoors if no one is watching. When kenneled, Destiny will loudly submit her objections, wait for management to ignore them and eventually settle down to sleep. She sleeps begrudgingly in a crate or on the floor, though she regularly attempts to gain couch access. Apparently, being only ten pounds tall is a cruel architectural injustice for which the furniture should be held accountable. She is not especially fearful and has no known escape-artist tendencies. Her primary dramatic behavior is yelling at her siblings while playing or notifying her humans that meal service has fallen below acceptable standards. She is sweet, spicy and fully prepared to contact upper management if dinner is delayed by seventeen seconds.<br/><br/>Destiny is ready to give one lucky family her whole enormous heart—along with endless cuddles, enthusiastic doggy friendships, daily comedy and the occasional strongly worded reminder that dinner was due several seconds ago.
