I am a handsome gold and black, 1 year old, 6 pound Yorkie mix boy. I am mostly Yorkie, but have a bit of Silky, Maltese and Havanese in my background. I was born on December 21, 2024. I was turned over by my breeder because I have a heart murmur. I am a very sweet, lovable little boy that asks nothing more than a soft lap to lay in, belly rubs and lots of kisses. It does take me awhile to warm up to anyone I do not know. I do well with all of the other pupsters and love the soft cushy beds and all of the toys. I am a happy little boy and have a great personality. I waited to be neutered because my vet wanted to make sure the heart murmur did not worsen. A decision was made that I should be fine going under anesthesia. Unfortunately I nearly died but thanks to our wonderful vet I am here with everyone. Because of this I cannot ever go under anesthesia again. I would love a home with no small children and a fenced in area where I can romp and play. My diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, on a monthly heartworm prevention and natural flea protection. I am working on house training and do well during grooming. My adoption fee is $600.00. Through December 2025 the cost to meet my daily needs is $1349.00 which includes vetting, food, heartworm medication, flea protection and grooming.

Peke A Tzu Rescue's Adoption Policy

Our guidelines are based on years of rescue experience. We have made a commitment to find a safe and loving forever home for each foster in our rescue. If we make a mistake on our selection of a forever home, it could cost the dog his/her life. Many rescuers, who have little or no adoption guidelines, have seen disastrous results such as the adopted dog dumped in a kill shelter within weeks of adoption, where he/she can be destroyed within 3 days. Sometimes the adopted dog was given away to a friend or family member of the adopted parent, and the dog was later dumped. We dearly love our fosters and are solely responsible for their future happiness and health. We will not allow this to happen to our fosters. For this reason, we require a signed adoption application, contract and notarized agreement all stating that "if the adopted parent cannot keep the dog for any reason, he/she agrees to notify Peke A Tzu Rescue and to return the dog upon request. If the dog is not returned, we have permission to enter the home and remove the adopted dog." If you are not willing to agree to these terms, do not complete an adoption application. Our other adoption guidelines are explained below. Dogs will not be placed in homes with children under the age of 10 Dogs will not be placed in homes with pets in excess of 30 pounds Dogs will not be placed with an adult who is planning on having children in the next few years Applicant must have current or previous pet ownership to verify vet history and care Applicant must have a fenced yard. There are exceptions to this, but 95% of our fosters require a fenced yard Dogs will not be placed in a home with an invisible fence Young dogs will not be placed with elderly adults Applicant must be 25 years or older An adoption fee is required and is non negotiable and non refundable Applicant must be a home owner due to leasing/renting complications Applicant must undergo reference checks and a home visit The person submitting the application must be the person adopting Applicant must have a vet reference All pets must reside inside the applicant’s home All current pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all vaccinations (or current vaccination titer test), heartworm tested annually and on heartworm preventative Puppies will not be placed in a home where they are left alone for more than 2 hours without adult supervision We will NOT process the following Applications: Applications received without Application Fee payment Applications that are incomplete Applications that do not meet our Adoption Guidelines
