Gets Along With: Derby gets along with other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested. Due to her breed mix and small size, she may not go to a home with children under the age of 12.

Currently Living at: DC area foster home.

Special adoption considerations: When Derby arrived in the shelter, she was pretty scared and shut down. However, she has been making great strides in foster care here! We think she would benefit from opportunities to hang out with dogs in various environments - doggie day care, at home, etc.

Also, due to her breed mix and small size, Derby may not go to a home with children under the age of 12.

Derby is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this small sweetie with the absurdly enormous ears landed in the shelter. Derby came to Lucky Dog feeling confused and scared, and is looking for extra patient and loving adopters who will reassure her that she is home for good. She wants nothing more than to trot through the world with all the confidence of a well-loved dog (some dignity, please - no riding in purses) and see it by her human's side. What My Foster Says About Me: Derby is such a sweetie! She came in and immediately felt at home with the other dogs in our home. Derby needs a little time when meeting new people but warms up once she trusts you.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
