He's perfectly content if your only plan for the afternoon is spending time together.<br/><br/>At approximately three years old and 66 pounds, Denali is still a young dog with many wonderful years ahead of him. Yet he already has the calm, steady personality that many people spend years hoping to find. More than one person has commented that he has the easygoing sweetness of a Golden Retriever wrapped inside the beautiful coat of a Great Pyrenees.<br/><br/>Denali came into rescue after being found wandering alone. Someone undoubtedly loved him at one time, but no one came looking for him. Whatever happened before he arrived is now behind him. What matters most is what lies ahead—a family that will cherish him forever and never let him wonder where he belongs again.<br/><br/>Since arriving in our care, Denali has impressed everyone he meets. The shelter staff describe him as a "big lover boy," and that description couldn't be more accurate. He greets new people with quiet confidence and an open heart. Men and women alike have found him to be friendly, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to handle.<br/><br/>He walks beautifully on leash, staying close to his person as though he simply enjoys sharing the journey together. He's not interested in pulling or racing ahead. His greatest reward is your company.<br/><br/>Veterinary examinations have shown him to be a cooperative and trusting patient. He willingly allows handling of his ears, feet, tail, belly, muzzle, and the rest of his body without objection. His favorite part of the examination? The belly rubs that often come afterward.<br/><br/>Denali also appears to have excellent house manners. He waits to potty when taken outside and moves calmly in and out of his kennel.<br/><br/>Although he has had only limited opportunities to meet other dogs while in shelter care, his interactions with a female German Shepherd—including sharing space around toys—have been friendly and relaxed. At this time, he has not been evaluated with cats or young children, so careful introductions would be recommended.<br/><br/>Perhaps Denali's greatest gift is his temperament. He isn't demanding. He isn't noisy. He doesn't need to be the center of attention. He simply wants to love someone and be loved in return.<br/><br/>His ideal home is one where he can be a true member of the family—not just a dog who lives on the property, but a companion who shares daily life with the people he adores. Whether that's accompanying you around the house, relaxing on the porch, joining you for leisurely walks, or stretching out at your feet while you read a book or watch television, Denali will likely consider every moment together time well spent.<br/><br/>Prior to adoption, Denali will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for heartworm, and current on flea and tick prevention. At this time, he has no known medical concerns.<br/><br/>Like every Great Pyrenees rescued through Sierra Pacific Great Pyrenees Club Rescue, Denali deserves a family committed to providing him with love, stability, and lifelong companionship.
