INTRODUCING Delphina!
“Phina" is a gentle and kind-hearted pup 6-7 month old pup, making her an ideal furry companion for anyone considering adopting. Her foster family feels the most ideal home for her would be with other dogs that like to play, she's great with cat (she's been with two of them) and she seems to do great with kids too. She is very cuddly and loves to snuggle at the end of the day. Phina is crate trained, potty trained and great on the leash. She has been spayed and is up to date on all vaccines.
Backstory: This goofy, emaciated little girl was from a group of dogs rescued from being tied down in a yard, but their owner left town-leaving them no food & water. DSNiP was able to take Delphina in, thinking we could feed & nourish her back to health. But, the moment we saw her irregular breathing pattern, we knew there was more going on. Delphina suffered from a diaphragmatic hernia- her diaphragm is damaged, now many organs that should be in her abdomen, had moved into her chest and were limited her breathing capacity. DSNiP was thankful to find a skilled surgeon in cooperation with local vet clinic to allow a very difficult surgery to try to repair Delphina’s condition. Collaboration, skill, compassion, & an amazing dog all aligned…and it was a successful repair. Delphina now is in foster, playing non-stop with her foster sister, and able to breath & function like a normal pup while she looks for her forever family.
