Delia is a delightful girl with a calm disposition, loving temperament, and great house manners She is social and friendly with people and dogs.

Delia's foster dad says this about her: "Delia is a sweetheart. Very calm, great with other dogs. Enjoys relaxing in the house with humans. Fully house trained. Delia willingly goes into her crate when requested and also goes in there on her own to relax." Also: "Delia does not appear to show predatory reaction with birds or squirrels on her own.
1) Delia knows basic commands: Sit, No, Off, Lay down & "Crate"
2) Still learning: Stay & Heel while walking on a leash
3) Pulls while on a leash - Only walked her once outside yard due to current heartworm treatment
4) No aggression with other dogs walking on other side of street
I had specifically placed Delia in a Sit Stay as 2 other dogs walked by on other side of street ?? [and she stayed in Sit position as both dogs walked by] " In short, Delia is a fabulous dog and would be a great pet for a first time dog owner.

Important note: Delia was treated for heartworm infection in mid-May, and needs to remain on restricted activity / cage rest for the following 6 weeks. No playing, running, or walks. However, at the end of that time she can gradually resume normal activities. She must given ongoing heartworm preventative to prevent recurrence.

Delia is is 3-4 yo and weighs about 40 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and screened for parasites. Her adoption fee is $300 cash and she is available for foster-to-adopt within the Chicago area.
