Daysi's Story
My name is Daysi—like the little flower that grows quietly toward the sun. I’m gentle, shy, and still learning how to feel safe in a big, busy world.I came from the streets of Mexico, and my life before rescue was a tough one. Because of that, I’m very slow to trust. I need a calm, patient home where no one expects too much from me too soon. It may take weeks before I’m ready for touch, and that’s okay—I just need someone who understands that trust grows best when it isn’t rushed.A lot of everyday things are brand new to me. Walking on a leash, hearing cars, living inside a house—these are all things I’m still figuring out. I’m learning what it means to be part of a family and how to relax in a home, and I’ll need gentle guidance as I discover that the world doesn’t always have to be scary.Once I feel safe, though, I truly bloom. I’m incredibly sweet and affectionate with the people I trust. I do happy dances when I see you, wag my tail with excitement, and lean in close for hugs. It just takes time and patience to get there—but when I do, my love is wholehearted.I really enjoy the company of other dogs and feel comforted by them, since I spent so much of my life surrounded by canine friends. I like having a dog buddy, though I do enjoy being a bit bossy, so dog parks aren’t my style. I cannot live with cats or small animals—my greyhound instincts are strong, and fast little creatures are just too tempting.I’m looking for a quiet home with no kids under 12, filled with kind, understanding people who will let me move at my own pace. I’m smart, sensitive, and full of potential. With the right person—someone patient, gentle, and willing to let me grow slowly—I’ll become a loyal, loving companion.Like a daisy, I may start small and a little shy, but with sunlight, care, and time, I’ll blossom into something really special! I weigh 50 pounds and my adoption fee is $240, it includes registration of my microchip, a sample of my food, new leash/collar and toy & treat packet. I am neutered and vaccinated.
