Dasher's Story

Dash is a young male catahoula puppy. He is being rehomed, fully vetted, friendly with people and their other dog. Great with kids. Housetrained, uses a doggie door.

Anyway.. Dash is a sweet dog! He loves to cuddle on the couch and lets the kids play with his feet and ears.. my 2 year old plays “salon” with him. 😂

He LOVES his bright orange ball. He will chase it forever! Then brings it inside as his prize.

When we leave home, we give him a treat puzzle to keep him busy. We were crating him but he didn’t love it. So we tried letting him out and he just sleeps on the couch with our older dog. If he’s had exercise.. he just sleeps! I have a camera in our living room which I use to make sure he’s fine and we haven’t had an issue. The longest we’ve left them home alone is 5 hours.

Dash is highly food motivated. Don’t leave food on the counter.

Questions email sharon@blackjackrescue.org

Please go to www.blackjackrescue.org and fill out an application under adopt menu. We have dogs placed in foster homes in many states including Indiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Connecticut. Our adoption fee helps to cover the costs associated with rescuing and vetting. Once your application is received, we will check references and call you to schedule a meet & greet or home visit. Depending on your location, the home visit may need to be completed by a rescue organization that is local to you. Once approved to adopt, pickup or third-party transport will be arranged for your new family member. It is our preference that you are able to personally meet the dog prior to adopting. We do not have a physical structure, but we have dedicated foster homes in many states. Please have your application completed in order to schedule the home visit or meet and greet.
