Dash's Story

Dash is a one-year-old male, blue-eyed, bi-blue Sheltie.

He gets along well with other dogs, and is always looking for a canine playmate! He was trained as a gluten detector service dog for an individual with Celiac Disease. Unfortunately, that training did not include socialization.

Dash has made great progress in his foster home, but his new family will need to continue to fill in the “socialization gaps”. When confronted with something or someone new his default behavior is growling and barking.

He loves toys, balls, jumps and tunnels. He is fast and could make a fun agility companion! He is very affectionate once he knows and trusts his people, but he is uncertain about small children at this time. Time, space, and patience will continue to expand his confidence.

Dash is energetic and would thrive with an adopter who could provide him with plenty of mental and physical exercise!
