Daryl Dixon Pit Bull Terrier Mix Neosho, MO

On a dreary Sunday in January as we closed up for the day, we heard scratching and crying coming from our front door. Imagine our shock when we saw a tiny, black-and-white puppy sitting out in the cold and a car peeling out of the parking lot. With no other choice, we brought in the dumped puppy we named Daryl Dixon and began his intake process.
We are now searching for a foster-to-adopt family for Mr. Daryl. He does have demodex mange, a non-contagious skin condition. He is already looking better since his first round of treatment, and the tea-tree oil shampoo baths help his itching a LOT. However, he does have a few more rounds of treatment to go with a month wait between each.

This is why we would like him to go to a foster-to-adopt home-we will cover cost of treatment and supplies, and he gets to go home and not spend his entire puppyhood in a kennel.

Daryl is a tough little puppy who keeps up well with all the other puppies, even those triple his size. He has an unmistakable scrappiness and is full of heart. When he spends time as office dog, he is jubilant and thoroughly enjoys his time chewing toys in the big dog bed. He confidently hops up on the couch to continue his play and gleefully joins me in games of tug and fetch. He is a fairly active guy, lots of puppy energy still, but he is not frantic with his movement. He takes initiative to offer sits and eye contact for treats and is overall composed and pleasant to spend time with. I think that he is a puppy with great potential that I do not want to waste-these weeks and months are crucial to help him become a well-rounded member of society.
