Darrah's Story

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Darrah! Darrah is a 2 month old female shih tzu mix and she weighs about 3 pounds. Darrah is still a growing puppy and we do expect her to get larger. Darrah arrived in rescue after being from an accidental litter. She has been thriving in foster care, but is ready to find a family that is up for all of the puppy challenges, such as leash training, house training, continued socialization and learning what to chew and not chew. Her foster mom says: Darrah is a tiny tornado, full-time cuddle bug, and part-time referee in puppy wrestling matches. This sweet Shih Tzu mix is playful, affectionate, and always wants to be where her people are — sometimes literally under your feet! Darrah is working hard on housetraining and will need a family committed to frequent potty breaks and consistency as she learns. She absolutely loves to roughhouse and play with other puppies, but because of her energetic play style, she’d do best in a home without senior dogs. She can also be a little chatty when she wants attention, which honestly just adds to her charm. Due to her tendency to weave around legs, a home without seniors or very young children/toddlers would be safest for everyone. If you’re looking for a spunky, loving sidekick with a big personality packed into a little body, Darrah may be your girl.

Darrah is spayed, up to date on vaccines, on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped.

Darrah is fostered in the Orlando area and her adoption donation is $525. If you are interested in applying to adopt Darrah, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
