Danny Pembroke Welsh Corgi Logan, OH

Danny has been in foster care due to him being unpreditable and very nervous. He will only be available for adoption to someone who is familiar with the breed and its quirks and who will be patient and give Danny the time he needs to warm up to his new person. You will have to earn affection from Danny. He doesn't like to be pet but does like to sit next to you.
Danny has excellent house manners- he will not jump on furniture unless invited up, he does not get into or chew on things and he is housebroken. He loves to go for walks. He will alert you if someone is at the door, if your oven is preheated or your alarm is going off. He wants you to come check out the noise. He likes having "a job" to do.
Danny was exposed to Lyme disease and has been treated for that. However Danny does not like hands near his face and does not enjoy being pet unless he really trusts you. Danny was found stray so we do not know what he went through. Some type of hitting/abuse is likely and he has a quick startle reflex and will bite if you persist with something he isn’t comfortable with…. We believe this is correctable through some desensitization training but because he can be unpredictable we do not recommend him for homes with children or lots of other animals.
Danny likes to herd other dogs in the house so any other dog in the home should be submissive. Danny will chase cats (but wont hurt them) so we don’t recommend him sharing living quarters with a cat unless there is plenty of space for each.
Danny can be vocal. He will absolutely tell you if someone is at your door or if he needs to go potty.
Must have a fenced yard as he will wander off if just let out the door to roam.
He cannot be crated- it makes him overly anxious but there is no need to crate him. He is fine left alone in the home.
He is good in a car if you put him in the backseat.
Danny is not for everyone but we are certain he would make a good companion for someone willing to be patient with Danny and help him overcome his quirks.
He is not at the shelter- any meet and greets must be preapproved and by appointment with the foster.
