Millions of dogs live on the streets in Mexico, and our rescue works at the source through spay/neuter programs, rescue, medical care, and adoption into loving homes.
- Since 2019, we have matched over 500 dogs with loving homes & spayed/neutered over 3,500 dogs in Mexico.
- All of our dogs are currently in foster care in Guadalajara, Mexico. They are listed in Oregon for adoption purposes because our rescue is based there.
- Once an adoption is approved, the dog will fly to Portland, Oregon (PDX). Most dogs arrive within 2-4 weeks after approval, depending on flight availability.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? Not 100% yet. As rescues that lived outdoors, they'll need some time to adjust. Most adapt within 1-2 weeks of consistent training.
- The breed listed is our best guess (since they're rescues!)

When Damien's family moved out, they left him behind with his mate and their two puppies, like they were furniture nobody wanted to bother packing. By the time he was found, he was terrified and covered in ticks and fleas, small enough to disappear into a corner and quiet enough that it would have been easy to miss him there.

He hasn't forgotten what that felt like, but he's learning that not every home works that way. "He's still a little shy," his foster, Susana, says, "but I think with fewer dogs around and more one-on-one attention, his personality is really going to bloom." Little by little, he trusts more, and the affection that was always in him has started coming out on his own terms.

Damien is a calm, quiet presence around the house, the kind of dog who'd rather gnaw on a bone in a corner than compete for attention. He's lost several teeth over the years, and the two front ones that remain give him an accidental, permanent look of a tiny rabbit, one of those details that makes people fall for him before he's even done anything. He plays well with the dog he was rescued alongside and does fine around cats.

Damien isn't looking for chaos, he's looking for calm. He'd thrive in a quiet household with a patient adopter willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace, ideally without a big pack of other dogs competing for space. He's spent enough of his life being an afterthought. Could you be the one who makes him the whole point?

*************************
Ready to apply?
