Dallas `Dally` Winston's Story
Dallas is a friendly, excitable and smart dog; he and his sister, Darry, enjoying going on long walks and cuddling up with someone after the exercise. They are smart dogs and need engagement and enrichment; they love a good puzzle or chew toy! Dally and Darry love playing together and enjoyed spending time with an older dog while in foster care; out on walks, they do bark at other dogs and could use some more experience meeting dogs in the real world. With people, they are friendly and excited to meet everyone!

Dally and siblings were transferred to Valley Humane on 3/11 from Stockton Animal Services. They had been found stray. Dally weighs 9.4 pounds.

This dog has been diagnosed with demodicosis. Demodicosis is a skin condition caused by a mite that lives in the hair follicles of all dogs, but under certain conditions - if the dog is immature, underweight, on a poor diet and stressed, the numbers of mites in the hair follicles increase, causing the fur to fall out in patches. Demodex is not contagious to other animals or to people. She has been treated for this skin condition while at VHS and has improved before being made available for adoption. This dog is due for her final treatment on 3/31/26 which will be provided to the adopting family if adopted prior to this date. It is recommended that the adopting family shares this history with their family veterinarian.

Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption?
