Dale's Story

Dale the Dachshund! He's cute and sweet but very nervous about the world.

Dale came from a situation with too many animals. He's under-socialized as a result, and frightened of everyday sounds, sights, etc.. He's not at all accustomed to all the things most dogs are already used to at his age. But he sure is a handsome! He doesn't know how to walk on a leash, and he doesn't like leashes currently, so we are requiring his adopter have a securely fenced yard.

Dale did formerly live with other small dogs, but some didn't get along well, so we're uncertain how he would do with another dog. If a potential adopter had a dog, we'd try a dog meeting here at the shelter. We have no idea about cats. He's looking for a home with adults only.

If you're looking for a small dog in need, Dale is your guy! Someone patient and kind, that's what he hopes for most. Call the shelter at (603) 472-3647 and press 1 to schedule an appointment to meet him.

Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire's Adoption Policy
All adoptions are done on an appointment only basis, for specific animals. No animals have multiple families visiting them at one time, this wouldn't be fair to them or for you. Because of this, we do not book out appointment more than 24-48 hours in advance. We are CLOSED for browsing at this time to keep the stress level of the animals in our care as low as possible. Thank you for your understanding! We DONT have online applications, we prefer to have a open line of communication with our potential adopters. Our process is more educational based. Our adoption counselors will be able to tell you if the animal you're interested in will be able to go home the same day. Visit rescueleague.org to view our adoptable pets and call 603-472-3647 to schedule an appointment!
