Dakota - Update's Story
UPDATE AUGUST 28 - Dakota has met a couple of dogs now and we feel her reactivity is just frustration. She is limited in what interactions she can have with other dogs, but she can easily have a dog friend. Dakota has had her xray and recheck. Things are healing slowly but the surgeon is happy that the plate is intact and is doing it's job to support the leg.

Dakota recently came in with a broken leg that has been repaired with surgery at the end of June and is on the mend. We are open at this time to a serious foster to adopt situation as it's much less stressful for them to heal at home. She does have to remain close to our vet partners or family needs to available to get to vet appointments. Dakota will be having a recheck this week and will also need an X-Ray at the 6-8 week mark. this is included in her adoption fee, along with her spay which also needs to be done.

Things to know, super people friendly. No fear of people shown. High prey drive that can be typical of the breed, so no cats. We were told she is also reactive to other dogs but we find her just frustrated, not reactive.

Dakota, like many dogs is not keen on being in her kennel too long, but she does settle and has not been destructive to her bedding, toys or bandages.

Dakota is looking for a placement who is experienced and loves to train. Dakota is only a year old and with training to connect to her person, though the prey drive will be there, she will be focused on her handler
