****We are Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S) – Stephenville, TX - We are a small, foster based animal rescue, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, based out of Stephenville, TX. We work to rehabilitate and rehome unwanted cats and dogs in Stephenville and surrounding towns. We have recently expanded our scope to include Hamilton County, TX and are currently working with the City of Hamilton and the Hico Police Department to find loving foster and permanent homes for dogs that have been abandoned and have ended up in the Hamilton Pound or the Hico Animal Shelter. <br/> Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S.)’s mission is to sponsor low cost spay/neuter and wellness exams, provide community education and provide food and supplies to those in need. We also do our best to find loving homes for abandoned, neglected, or abused animals. Our animals are vaccinated and on preventatives. Daisy is a 2-year-old Short-Haired Dachshund mix who was rescued from the Hamilton County shelter by a foster, along with her three sisters, just before the winter weather hit. While her sisters are out exploring, Daisy is usually looking for the nearest lap.<br/><br/>Personality & Traits: Daisy is the "sweetheart" of the bunch, but don't let her quiet nature fool you—she knows exactly what she wants! Unlike her more adventurous sisters, Daisy prefers snuggling to scouting. She is incredibly affectionate and loves to be held. Because she forms such deep bonds, she can be a bit possessive of "her person," but is not a nipper. She’s looking for a home where she can be your number-one priority. While she is a lover, she is also a strong, confident girl who can certainly hold her own with other dogs when she needs to!<br/><br/>The "Climbing" Factor: Even though she’d rather be in your lap, Daisy still has those "mountain goat" genes! She is surprisingly agile and can climb with the best of them when she’s motivated (usually to get closer to you). A secure environment is a must for this little gymnast. Daisy is new to being on leash but is doing quite well on one.<br/><br/>Health & Home Life:<br/><br/>Status: Spayed and Up-to-Date on all vaccinations.<br/><br/>Coat: Low-maintenance short hair (perfect for easy grooming!).<br/><br/>Ideal Home: A household looking for a loyal, "velcro" companion who will stay by your side through thick and thin.<br/><br/>Daisy has a lot of love to give and is ready to be the center of someone’s world.
