Daisy in NC - Happy-Go-Lucky Gal's Story

Daisy is a happy-go-lucky Pyr mix with a medium, soft coat that's just begging for pets! Daisy came into rescue as part of a cruelty case in North Carolina, where several dogs were seized, but you'd never know it from her sunny personality - this girl blooms wherever she goes. She's fully housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained, and she'd thrive as a leash-walk-only girl or in a home with a 5-foot fenced yard. She knows "sit" and "stay," has a medium activity level, and is no escape artist or runner - she loves people, does her business, and comes right back or hangs out contentedly on the porch. Daisy is good with other dogs and enjoys playing with them, so she'd do great with a canine companion, or as an only pet. Daisy loves everyone - she's outgoing, well-socialized, and adores kids. She doesn't dig, and barks when needed, like an average Pyr. She prefers being inside, soaking up all the cozy home life she can get. This girl is an absolute rockstar during grooming spa sessions, not minding water or the high-speed blower one bit. She is wonderful in the car - though she wants to drive in the front seat! Her foster hasn't found a single thing Daisy dislikes or fears; she's a confident pup through and through. Give her a frozen peanut-butter-stuffed puzzle ball, and she'll happily lick away at it for an hour. There are no behavior issues to report. What makes Daisy truly special is her gentle, submissive-yet-playful spirit - she loves grabbing a toy and running laps around the yard, whether solo or with friends. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicants ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
