Daisy's Story

Fostered in Pensacola

Meet Daisy – Ready for Her Fur-Ever Home!

This sweet girl is Daisy, and she is officially ready to find her forever family! Daisy is a typical 7–8 month old puppy — extremely playful, curious, and full of joyful energy. She weighs approximately 85 pounds of pure heart and love, is already spayed, and has a personality that will keep you smiling.

Daisy came into rescue with her sister, Karen, and the two of them are total love bugs. They were surrendered after spending much of their time outside, frequently escaping their yard and dangerously running along a nearby highway — dodging cars and heading down to a creek to play. Their former owner simply couldn’t contain them safely. Since coming into rescue, it’s become clear that Daisy (and her sister) were truly starved for affection and attention and are now soaking up every bit of love they receive.

Daisy has been an amazing house guest and has completely stolen hearts along the way.

Daisy is:
• House trained
• Crate trained (treats are always appreciated)
• Great with kids and other dogs
• Curious but respectful of cats
• A big cuddle bug who believes she’s a lap dog

She loves food, playtime, and being close to her people. Daisy would thrive in a home with another large-breed companion to play with and a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and burn off that happy puppy energy.

Because Daisy is still very much a puppy, her next family should be willing to continue her socialization and training. With consistency, structure, and love, she is going to grow into an excellently mannered adult dog once she reaches maturity.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, playful companion who will make you laugh and fill your home with love, Daisy might just be your girl!

Daisy is spayed, fully vaccinated, and chipped. Adopters are required to pick up the dog in person from his or her foster parent.

We allow exceptions in rare medical instances upon verification with your vet only. 2. All Dogs and outdoor Cats in your home MUST be current and have been kept historically up to date on annual vaccinations and monthly (or semiannual) heartworm and flea prevention. You must be a minimum of 21 years of age to adopt and be able to prove you're financially able to care for a great dane should a medical emergency arise. 4. You must own the property in which you live or your landlord must be willing to verify that you are allowed to have a Great Dane in your rental home. We check property records.? 5. Our Great Danes require a sturdy fenced in yard, particularly young or active danes. Generally, a six-foot or higher privacy fencing is preferred. In certain circumstances, the Board may waive this requirement depending upon the Dane's personality and temperament. Any such exceptions will solely be at the discretion of the Rescue Board. Under no circumstances will we consider invisible or electric fencing as acceptable. 6. We only adopt Dogs as indoor pets. We will not adopt Dogs to be used as guard dogs or to be kept out-of-doors. 7. A home visit is required for ALL adoptions, without exception. This is not a white-glove inspection, rather it is to ensure that the home is a safe environment for the Great Dane. 8. We do not transport. If you are applying from out of area or out of state, understand that if your application gets approved, you will be expected to pick up the dane in the location that he/she is being fostered. It will take us more time to get the home visit set up. At any time, if you have questions about the status of your application, please email the rescue at nwflgdr@gmail.com.
