DAIRY MILK's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DAIRY MILK hails from a Southern community in Ontario and came into the rescue with her 3 siblings, Milky Bar, Galaxy and Bournville. They came into Rescue on the Easter weekend so they received the litter name of the “Chocolates’s” and this cute girl is now looking for her forever home. She’s had her 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We do have a picture of her mum and she looks like a Border Collie mix but we have no info on dad. Seeing as she comes from a community with lots of strays she no doubt has many different breeds in her and they could additionally include Shepherd, Black Lab and even Husky. We also have no idea on the size she’ll grow to be so the size we have in this post is just a guess. She really loves to socialize with people and run up to them with her tail just a wagging to greet them. With her happy personality and loving
DAIRY MILK has little wrinkles on her forehead giving her such an adorable look. She’s a happy, playful girl who’s full of curiosity and love. She enjoys running around and playing with all of her toys and she especially likes the squeaky ones. She’s a very cuddly girl and will curl up in your lap and snuggle down to have a nap. With her happy, playful personality she’ll bring lots of joy to her adoptive family’s lives.

DAIRY MILK is crate trained and picked up on that very quickly as she’s a very smart girl. She’ll sleep quietly in it at night but in the day she does like to sleep on her dog bed. She’s doing really well with her house training and is just starting to let it be known when she has to go outside for a bathroom break. She’s just started on leash walks and is doing well with that also. She’s walked while wearing a harness that’s attached to her collar for safety and to stop any pulling around her neck. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to satisfy that urge not to chew on anything that she shouldn’t. She really loves to chew on a Nyla bone to keep those little teeth busy too. She’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as “sit” for her meals and treats and to take them “gentle.”

DAIRY MILK’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them. She really loves to go in a vehicle and will just snuggle into her blanket that’s in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. She’s fostered with a large dog and she just lives her and follows her around the home. She would suit a home with another dog in the home and if there is one, we always recommend that a slow, monitored introduction be made between them while the resident dog is on a leash for initial meetings. She hasn’t met a cat but seeing as she’s just a puppy then they should get along especially if it happens to be a dog savvy one. She can be an only pet as long as she’s not left along for long periods of time. She needs a fenced-yard and children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.

DAIRY MILK, like all puppies is a cute, playful and fun puppy but she’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and het potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age. It will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. However her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe for the reimbursement and we’ll need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in a onsie or cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week.

If DAIRY MILK sounds like she’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.
