Cutie's Story
Cutie is a name that truly lives up to the dog behind it. With her wonderfully stocky build, big ol’ head, and ears that can’t quite decide whether to stand tall or flop down, she’s impossible not to smile at. She’s got a unique look and an even more memorable personality to match.

After being repeatedly overlooked at a shelter in Louisiana, Cutie made her way to Iowa for a well-deserved second chance—and she’s more than ready to find her people. She can be a bit of a rascal (in the best possible way), always eager to explore, follow her nose, and take in all the new sights and smells around her. The world is still a big place to her, and while she can be a little jumpy or hesitant with strangers, she’s learning more every day that it doesn’t have to be so scary.

Cutie has an independent streak and is still working on her boundaries and basic manners, but she’s incredibly food-motivated and eager to please, which makes her a great candidate for continued training. She may take a little extra time to build trust, but once you’ve earned her respect, you’ll have a loyal companion for life—one who will happily be your friend, sidekick, and protector.

She loves to play and is just starting to discover how fun it can be to interact with other dogs. She also enjoys a good chew session with a bone and absolutely melts for butt scratches and ear rubs. Cutie does well with other dogs and kids, and she’s already potty-trained and crate-trained, giving her a great foundation for success in her new home.

Cutie is looking for someone patient and understanding—someone who will give her the time and guidance she needs to continue growing into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. In return, she’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, companionship, and plenty of adorable moments that make her name so fitting.

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
