Yes, but please keep in mind that they must be taught to respect the dog’s space, belongings, and food.
• HOUSEBROKEN? NOT 100% YET. As a dog rescued off the street and transitioning from living on indoor tile/ outdoor dirt surfaces in Mexico, they'll need time and patience to adjust to a new environment, but most of our dogs adapt to a potty routine within 1-2 weeks with consistent training.

🐾 Meet CUPI 🐾

Cupi had a home once. He had a person who loved him, who fed him, who made him feel safe. But when his human got sick, that person's family made a decision: they'd Cupi's owner with them, but they didn't want the dog. So they left Cupi with the gardener and walked away.

The gardener did his best. But then the family stopped paying him. And suddenly, Cupi—who'd done nothing wrong, who'd just been a loyal companion—was abandoned. Left behind like he'd never mattered at all.

When he was rescued, Cupi was thin and undernourished. You could see in his eyes that he'd suffered from the lack of companionship, from losing everyone he'd ever trusted. But here's the remarkable thing about Cupi: despite everything, his spirit wasn't broken. There was still this bright energy about him, this immediate desire to love the humans who gave him a chance. Like he'd been waiting to show someone—anyone—how much love he still had to give.

At around eight years old, Cupi is still energetic and full of life. He's social, playful, always ready for the next adventure. He loves car rides, does well in his crate, gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats. In his foster home, he sleeps curled up on the bed with his dog and cat friends, finally part of a pack again. He'd probably do wonderfully in a multi-pet household, but also would love soaking up all the love as an only dog.

He's not clingy or demanding—just deeply grateful for companionship. He wants to be near you, to share his days with people who actually want him around. He'll greet the mail carrier with a bark (because he takes his watchdog duties seriously), play with his soft toys, pull just a little on leash during walks because there's so much world to explore. He's just a good, happy dog who's been through too much uncertainty.

One thing about his health that potential adopters should know: the vet detected a slight heart murmur. The vet said it only needs monitoring and doesn't require medication right now. It's not serious at the moment, just something to be aware of as he ages.

What Cupi needs at this point in his life is stability. A home with people who'll give him the attention he's been deprived of all these years. A family who understands that being abandoned twice doesn't make him damaged—it just makes him more grateful for the people who finally stay.

After being left by the people who were supposed to protect him, after months of uncertainty and thin meals and wondering if anyone would ever want him—Cupi is ready for his real forever home. The one where nobody leaves. Where he's not an inconvenience but a cherished family member. Where he can finally stop worrying and just be loved.

Are you ready to be the family that shows Cupi what "forever" really means—the ones who'll never make him wonder if he's wanted, because the answer will always be yes?

*************************

📝 Ready to apply?
