Crouton Labrador Retriever & Shepherd Mix Overland Park, KS

You'd never know what Crouton has been through when you meet this happy guy. He loves to be with his people and is quite content to lay on the couch with you or enjoy a snooze in the shade. He is so smart and is treat motivated so training is fun. He is potty trained and has learned sit. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home and wants to play with them but is also respectful when they signal they're not interested. He loves chew toys and chasing his ball. He is 5 months and weighs approximately 32lbs.

What is unique about Crouton is that he had to have his front leg amputated. He was the victim of violence and was rescued by The Rescue Project after being shot through the snout and leg. Being young, he is healing amazingly and is navigating his new reality with positivity. He is getting around well and has even become adept of hardwood floors and stairs. His wounds are healing well and he is a very affectionate and fun guy! He deserves to be spoiled family member for the rest of his life. As Crouton is still recovering, he can still have occasional discomfort and we recommend no small children at this time as they may be too rough with him as he continues to recover.
