Cosmo's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cosmo found himself unwanted and in a high kill shelter in South Texas. He is good with other dogs and people, and cats are unknown. Cosmo will need a grooming appt as soon as he arrives. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. He recently arrived in MN and we are getting to know him more. We will be updating his bio as we get to know him. Here's what we know so far about him. He is great with all people, a total sweetheart. He has met many dogs and does well with all of them. He LOVES to play with dogs of all sizes. He tries so hard to play with the dog in the oven/window/fridge (aka his reflection) but they just won't return the interest and he cannot figure out why. He enjoys car rides and snuggles. He kennels easily and keeps it clean. He has been good with his potty habits with a close eye. He is good on the leash with no major pulling most of the time. He gets excited when you come home. He does quiet in the kennel once he settles (he does protest, but a walk before kenneling helps keep him calmer). Shared/thin walls would not be advised as he barks at noises when kenneled or alone even after he initally settles if he is the only dog in the home. He does better at staying quiet with other dogs around when no one is around. He will follow you room to room, he is a curious pup. He loves his squeaky toys and chasing toys around the home. He sleeps throgh the night, but is an early riser; sun's up, he's up that's his motto. He was a perfect gentleman for his groom too. This easy going pup will be a great addition to a home with other dogs or with someone who is home most of the time.<br/>First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment mid July. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.

Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet. Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our mission. When adopting a pet, you have the option of picking one from an animal shelter or a rescue organization. Both are good options, however, an animal rescue – like Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue, is completely volunteer-run and as a charitable organization we are funded through donations. Our animals are in foster homes and we do everything we can to learn as much about their likes and dislikes, temperament and activity level as we can while in foster care. By doing so, it enables us to work more closely with potential adopters to do our best to help ensure a “good fit.” The adoption process might take a bit longer than adopting from a shelter or humane organization, but our goal is finding a match that benefits both the pet and the family interested in adopting. We place dogs and cats in loving, responsible, committed foster homes until the comprehensive adoption process is complete. The adoption process includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a new pet into their homes and lives. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference, background check and a home visit. Pets in our care are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and are up to date on rabies, da2pp, distemper, bordatella, and are tested and treated for parasites/worms, heartworm (if over 6 months), and Feline Leukemia/ Feline HIV, as well as any other veterinary care that is needed. Adoption fees are as follows: Dogs under 3 years = $350 plus tax Dogs 3 years and over = $300 plus tax Cats under 3 years= $200 plus tax Cats 3yrs and over =$150 plus tax
