Cosmo's Story

Meet Cosmo! A thoughtful, intelligent , 3 year old boy who was e-listed for being withdrawn and avoiding people in the shelter. He wasn’t aggressive—just needed to be shown patience. One of our volunteers described him as having “cat energy”: curious, playful, and happiest when allowed to warm up on his own terms. We knew he had a lot of potential and are grateful to have been able to find him a foster.

Cosmo has taken his time warming up to his foster home. He was slowly introduced to the other dogs in the home, and it was clear that he wanted to be the boy in charge of the pack. He’s playful, affectionate, and loves spending time with his humans. If you want to win him over, just show him a tennis ball! He’s a high-energy pup who enjoys walks, fetch, belly rubs, cuddles, and especially quality time with his people. He responds well to verbal correction and continues to improve his manners, including working on jumping up when he’s excited. He’s also a very smart boy—Cosmo is potty trained, crate trained, and knows several obedience cues including sit, stay, down, shake, and place. Cheese is the fastest way to his heart—there is no evading the cheese tax with Cosmo! Cosmo has done well interacting with dogs he meets outside the home, but living with multiple dogs has been a bit overwhelming for him, and he tends to want to be in charge. As a result, he is now in boarding and we need a foster for him too.

Cosmo would be happiest in a calm, structured home that can give him both physical activity and mental engagement. An adult-only home or one with respectful teens (13+) is recommended. Living with multiple dogs has been a bit overwhelming for him and because of this, he would likely thrive as an only dog or with one calm, easygoing canine companion. Cats are unknown. Cosmo is absolutely ready to be the stellar center of your universe!

Adoption Application: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
