Cortes's Story

Handsome, studly Cortes, built like a tank, head like a bowling ball, is about 3 years old. He came to the shelter as a stray dog, so we are learning more about him every day. Call for latest updates!
Due to his breed, he WILL NEED A HOME OFF BASE, because pit bulls are not allowed to live on base.

He has the typical energy of a terrier, and daily exercise would do him good. He's very playful and a high-energy guy. He is dreaming of a new loving home with people who are experienced dog owners, are dog savvy, and where he can be the best buddy forever this time, please! He is a cool dude, knows "sit" and has a gentle mouth when he takes treats from you.
His new family should really know and understand the breed, take very seriously their role as his family, as his protector, as his manager, as his teacher, and as his companions for life.

We don't know yet how he is with dogs he doesn't know, but he did come to the shelter with another dog, and both of them were running loose together on base. If you can commit to loving and caring for him for the rest of his life, he will be your loyal best friend forever.
Adoption fee $50.

If you do not have regular, normal access to the base, please DO still give us a call and we will work with you to arrange a meeting so you have some play-yard time to get acquainted. 760-725-8120.

The public is welcome to come adopt the patriotic pets at the Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter! All dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, flea-treated, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please call ahead at 760-725-8120 to set up a meet-n-greet with him.
