Corduroy's Story

Meet Corduroy

This handsome senior Dachshund may be 12 years old, but don't tell him that - he still enjoys his short strolls outside, making new friends on walks, and most importantly...professional-level couch snuggling.

Corduroy is heartworm positive and will only be adopted to an approved applicant located in the Cape Girardeau or Sikeston, MO area so he can safely continue treatment with our veterinarian. Despite everything he's been through, Corduroy remains one of the sweetest, most laid back little guys you could ever meet.

A few things about this precious boy:
Fully potty trained
Great with other dogs
Loves treats and pill pockets
Enjoys naps, snacks, and soft blankets
Uses dog stairs like a pro
Can be left home alone with no issues
Not much of a toy guy - he's retired from that lifestyle

Corduroy recently had some teeth removed, so his food gets softened a bit, which he appreciates very much because honestly...same. He also isn't a fan of the car or crates. In fact, crates are a hard no for him, as he becomes very distressed and can hurt himself trying to escape. Thankfully, he does wonderfully loose in the home.

Corduroy is the definition of an easy companion dog. He just wants a calm home, a comfy couch, some snacks, and humans to love. After surviving heartworm disease and making it through his medical care, we think this sweet senior deserves the absolute best chapter yet.
